Many CSIRO Divisions maintain MOUs (memoranda of understanding) with foreign agencies and universities, usually in support of specific programs.
During 2000 several new MOUs were signed by CSIRO Divisions. Some of them were with the Australian Food Industry Science Centre, Singapore-based F&N Foods Pty Ltd, the Chinese State Administration of Building Materials Industry (SAMBI), and Indonesia’s Lemigas.
A total of 21 current agreements are spread over 15 Divisions and the Corporate Centre. A total of 77 have been signed over the last 20 years.
CSIRO also maintains and funds a number of MOUs at corporate level to facilitate pre-competitive S&T collaboration – i.e. in areas and at a level that do not compromise Australian commercial interests.
Amongst APEC’s ten working groups there are several whose agendas either involve CSIRO staff, or have the potential to do so.
