Two US based industries in Mexico has responded to the APEC-IST 1999 survey so far. Close to customer, government incentives, partnership conditions, availability of an existing manufacturing cum development facility at an affordable price and low cost manpower are cited as reasons for setting up development activities there.
Labor management, economy, availability of highly qualified technical and management personnel and loyalty are stated as problems in carrying out developmental activities there.
