The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) is an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. CIPE works in four principal areas: a grants program that currently supports over 90 indigenous organizations in developing countries, an award winning communications strategy, training programs, and technical assistance through field offices. Since its inception in 1983, CIPE has funded more than 550 projects in 70 countries and has conducted management training programs throughout the world.
CIPE has received support for specific programs from IBM, Coca-Cola, Ernst & Young, Capitol Health Partners, The Pew Charitable Trusts, RJ Reynolds Tobacco and the United States Information Agency.

A group of citizens from several countries founded Global Policy Forum in December, 1993, to monitor global policy making at the United Nations. At a time of rapid globalization, when nation states are weakening, the founders of GPF wanted to promote a more open, accountable and democratic policy process at the global level. GPF is based in New York City and accredited to the UN. GPF has built a large web site as its primary vehicle for information and outreach. On the site, GPF has published dozens of original papers on global policy issues, as well as hundreds of pages of documents and data. The site is designed to be used by the general public as well as by students and specialists. GPF works cooperatively with scholars, experts and research institutes in a number of countries, to produce the very highest quality of analysis and provide the most reliable data. Global Policy Forum is supported by contributions from foundations and other institutions as well as many generous individuals.

IQNet provides consistent certification to multinational companies with subsidiaries in several countries. Currently IQNet has 28 members. KRISTAL-II is a comprehensive suite of information retrieval system developed by Korea Research and Development Information Center (KORDIC). Currently, the system has government funded R&D report DB, R&D Human resources DB and S&T Dissertation and Thesis DB. All these databases are readily available from the home page of KOREA at the ASTWeb. They have developed a Meta-Search agent, which is available at http://ruby.kordic.re .kr/~apec/meta/meta.html
Database contains total R&D expenditure by sector of performance and source of funds (current US$m); business expenditure in manufacturing by industry (with 22 industry sectors, see below for codes) (current US$m); and number of personnel involved in R&D by occupation (full-time equivalent). For OECD countries, the source is Basic Science & Technology Indicators (OECD, Paris) and for the Asian countries of Korea, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Indonesia, Malaysia, India and China, sources are the Ministries of each country involved in R&D (see details below). There is very little data available for Indonesia and China.

R&D Expenditure by Sector of Performance: Government Exp, Business Enterprise Exp, Higher Education Exp, Private Non-Profit Exp, Total Gross Domestic Exp. R&D Expenditure by Sources of Funds: Total Funds, Government Funds, Business Enterprise Funds, Higher Education Funds, Private Non-Profit Funds, Funds from Abroad Funds. R&D Personnel by Occupation: Total R&D Personnel, R&D Scientists and Engineers, Technicians, Other. Business Expenditure on R&D (manufacturing): Refers to private and public sector enterprises (except for Malaysia where it includes only private sector enterprises).

The UIA has been collecting, publishing and disseminating information on international nonprofit organizations since its creation in 1910, as its central activity. This has been further developed to cover information on their international meetings, their problems, and their strategies.
